Des Moines will be home to the sixth HomeGrown, the first in Iowa

Des Moines, IA (August 29, 2022) – HomeGrown, a breakfast and lunch time eatery, dedicated to cultivating kindness and culinary creativity, is currently under construction at the Crescent Building in downtown Des Moines.

HomeGrown was born five years ago in Wichita, KS by restaurateurs Jon and LaurenRolph. There are currently three units in Wichita and two in Kansas City. HomeGrown serves made from scratch meals with locally sourced ingredients, including cage free eggs, fresh squeezed orange juice, homemade pop tarts, mimosas and more, and is known for being “thoughtful about food”.

Founder Jon Rolph built HomeGrown centered around the idea of cultivating kindness, “We believe that if we help each other start the day right, we will awaken a contagious chain of positive acts that cultivate kindness throughout Des Moines.”

“We’re excited for another great addition to the Crescent Building, which has re-invigorated the neighborhood and complements the energy of surrounding businesses.

HomeGrown will enhance the Krause+ goal of creating vibrant communities where people can live, work, and play,” says Nate Easter, Director of Commercial Development for Krause+.
